FIMS 0.1 Live
2008-05-05
The FIMS project has (finally) completed and published its first release. You can find out how to connect to the server at the Play Online page, while the more technically-minded may download the source code and binaries from the Download Server page. FIMS took much longer to implement than anticipated, mostly because of severe time constraints.
Now that the first version is up-and-running, our priority is to develop a graphical client which can be used to play on the server. Our aim is to have a first release quickly, which can be used on Windows and Linux. After that, we can go back to improvements to the FIMS server, followed by more client bells and whistles - lather, rinse, repeat.
Free Internet Morabara Server Project
2007-03-11
Work has begun on the Free Internet Morabaraba Server (FIMS) project, which aims to deliver a free server which will allow Morabaraba players worldwide to play over the Internet. While conceptually similar to the Free Internet Chess Server, FIMS is devoted to Morabaraba and its variants.
It is hoped that FIMS will be up-and-running by the middle of 2007. Please check the web site to get a progress update!
