Developers' Guide
My view is that the world needs more Morabaraba programs. There are already thousands of Chess programs; some are insanely good, some merely excellent, others adequate or less. There are certainly at least dozens of Draughts programs, hundreds of Othello programs and Connect-4 programs; however, there are very few Morabaraba programs, fewer still that play according to recognised rules, and fewer still that are worth playing against. The game of Morabaraba would be as well served by an active computer fraternity as have Chess and Draughts; the computer Morabaraba fraternity would be best served by healthy competition and regular tournament.
This Guide, therefore, has been written to introduce the experienced programmer to the game of Morabaraba and the mysteries of alpha-beta based "artificial intelligence". Programming this type of AI can be quite time consuming, but it can be an exciting, passionate process of creation. I therefore invite you - and challenge you - to look through this guide and some of the references, do some thinking, and produce your own Morabaraba program to test its mettle against the best. This Guide will get you started, but only your intense, tight, overwhelming code can bring you Morabaraba glory!
